The company achieved recognition for their engineering quality with Lloyds approval and contracts were won to produce machines for the Atomic Energy Authority and supersonic wind tunnels for the RAF. In tandem with this specialised work the company built up a reputation in general engineering, manufacturing machinery for the electrical, chemical and metalworking industries. They concentrated on the general engineering side and sold their security business to Chubb and Sons Lock and Safe Company in 1958. However, they continued to manufacture under licence special concrete materials for the Security Division until 1968. The Hall family continued the expansion of their worldwide business in the iron and steel industry and based their headquarters for their global activities at Hall Engineering in Shrewsbury. |
